wave-mint

Port of Terrebonne guides development and oversees the day-to-day management of the port. In addition, the Commission monitors the maintenance and improvement of the navigable waterways of Terrebonne, which are vital for navigation, commerce, and recreation.

Our Mission

To drive regional economic prosperity by maximizing the flow of trade and commerce through the navigable waterways of Terrebonne.

Our Vision

To be recognized as a catalyst for economic development in south Louisiana by providing deep water access and infrastructure for marine traffic and cargo flows connecting tenants and industry with the rest of the world.

The Port Commissioners.

Our experienced team of commissioners offers governance and leadership to help
guide the short-term actions and long-term vision of the port.

The Houma Navigational
Canal, Explained.

The Houma Navigational Canal is the lifeline that connects the port to the Gulf of Mexico. Unfortunately, consistent sediment build up in the channel over the course of a few years makes it impassable by many ships. Funding is needed to provide long-term solutions to keep this vital waterway open and commerce thriving.
